Doug Pollock

Doug Pollock is committed to guiding God's people into outward focused living. He is an author, a speaker, a chaplain in the YMCA, and a reflective practitioner whose focus is to help Christ followers worldwide increase the quality and the quantity of their spiritual conversations in practical, doable, and authentic ways.

Since 1983, Doug's ministry with Athletes in Action has taken him to 39 different countries, 6 of our 7 continents, and throughout most of the United States to share God's never-changing message with an ever-changing world.

His two books "Irresistible Evangelism" and "God Space" in combination with his outwardly-focused workshop have opened up doors for Doug to speak in faith communities worldwide. He is a frequent speaker at regional and national conferences across the U.S. He's had the privilege of speaking at the Pentagon's Prayer breakfast in Washington D. C., the national staff conferences of Campus Crusade for Christ (now known as CRU) in the U.S, Canada, Moldova, and Poland, and has done two national speaking tours of New Zealand.

Doug has an undergraduate degree from Kent State University, and graduate degrees from Miami of Ohio, and Columbia International University. He is married to his wife Martha, and they have 2 boys named David and Jonathan. They make their home just outside of Cincinnati, Ohio. Ken & Melinda Cogley

Awana Missionaries to OH & WV

After moving to a new neighborhood in the 4th grade, Ken was invited to attend Sunday School at a local church. He enjoyed it and began attending Awana there also. God used those two activities to prepare his heart to accept the truth of the Gospel. At age 10 he put his faith and trust in Jesus.

Melinda trusted Christ as her Savior at age 7, and grew up in a Christian home. As a teen, she helped with Good News Clubs in the neighborhoods of Troy, OH.

Melinda and Ken met in 1985; in Troy, Ohio when Ken returned from the military. They worked with the youth at church as their relationship started. After they married in 1986 they continued as youth sponsors. Later, they moved to Northeast Ohio where Melinda began to serve in Awana as the Cubbies snack lady. Over the years following she was a Chums and T&T Leader, T&T Director and Sparks Director. Before their work together as youth leaders, Ken worked as a Pals Leader. In 2003 they assumed the Commander position at Old North Church in Canfield. Ken and Melinda joined the Ohio Awana Ministry Team in 2005 with a special interest in Bible Quizzing. Through involvement with the Ministry Team and the training received while attending Commander College at Awana HQ they experienced God giving them a passion for children's ministry. Realizing the urgency for reaching boys & girls with the Gospel, they have followed God's call to serve as missionaries to the children, families and churches of Ohio & West Virginia.

Ashley Weaver

Ashley is a missionary with New Life Advance International(NLAI) to Guatemala, where she works in their Children's Home, New Life Children's Home (NLCH). Her ministry is mainly discipleship of the teenage girls. She also helps care for the young children and assists the House Moms with different tasks and activities, like homework in the afternoons.

After completing high school at Garaway, Ashley attended a year long internship called the Honor Academy with Teen Mania Ministries in Garden Valley, TX. While there, God began to break her heart for orphans and the poor, calling her to bring love and hope to the broken. After the internship was completed, she spent 6 months in Guatemala working at NLCH.

Ashley returned home to Ohio, but God continued to place the children of that Home on her heart. She went back to visit a year later and is now a full time missionary to the children's home. As a part of the preparation for full time ministry, she attended a 5-month missions training school, The School of Missions (SOM).

She is currently working to raise the rest of her funds and do recruitment for the ministry, while planning to marry in the late spring of 2013. She and her new husband plan to be in Guatemala early in 2014.
