![]() Pastor Chuck Jarvis Charles (Chuck) E. Jarvis has been the Senior Pastor at Valley View Community Church since April 11, 1993. Previous to coming to Valley View Community Church, he had pastored churches in Maryland and Texas since 1982. Educationally, he is a 1974 graduate from Federal Hocking High School in Stewart, Ohio. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture with a major in animal science from the Ohio State University in Columbus Ohio, a Master of Divinity degree with a major in pastoral ministries from Baptist Bible Seminary in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, a Master of Sacred Theology degree with a dual major in theology and Bible exposition from Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas, and a Doctor of Ministry degree with a dual major in pastoral ministries and Bible exposition also from Dallas Theological Seminary. In addition to his pastoral duties at Valley View Community Church, he is the founder and president of Ezra Ministries, a sermon outline and Bible study commentary ministry available to pastors and Christian education workers on a yearly subscription basis and in book form. He is also an active member of The Association of Evangelical Ministers, a ministry of the Dallas Theological Seminary Alumni Office in Dallas, Texas. He currently oversees the offering of college credit and adult credit courses from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois at Valley View Community Church in Sugarcreek, Ohio and also functions as an instructor for these courses. Since 1994, he has also served as a varsity baseball coach at Garaway High School in Sugarcreek, Ohio as part of his efforts to be actively involved in the local community. Pastor Chuck (a.k.a. Dr. "J") and his wife Becky have been married since September 4, 1976. They have five children, Joshua, Timothy, Benjamin, Matthew and Jennifer. His hobbies are baseball, horses and music. He plays the guitar and banjo in keeping with his favorite kind of music, bluegrass, and he is also an avid Dallas Cowboy football fan for which the dear folks at Valley View Community Church have been lovingly tolerant of him now these many years. |
